Li’l Abner Foundation Taekwondo
Our Taekwondo program teaches children and teens the benefits of the Kukkiwon Taekwondo style, giving them a focus on life. We emphasize Respect, Humility, Self Control, Perseverance, and Honesty. Our classes are for children aged 6 and above.
What is Taekwondo?
Taekwondo is a systematic and scientific Korean martial art that teaches more than just physical fighting skills. It’s a discipline that aims to enhance our spirit and life through training our body and mind. Today, it’s recognized as a global sport with international acclaim and is included in the official Olympic games.

- The class schedule at our Sweetwater center (11387 West Flagler St Miami, FL 33174) is as follows: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 5-6pm and 6-7 pm.
- Now, our Second Center in Palmetto Bay is Open. Taekwondo Class Schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 4-5 pm for Children under ten and 5-6 pm for children ten and up.. Our Program.
Our program focuses on discipline and values formation. The most important part is the practice of martial arts for self-defense in real situations. We also incorporate sports to motivate students to challenge themselves and reap the benefits of physical activity.

Head Instructor:
The taekwondo program is headed by Master Alvaro Ubeda, Taekwondo V Dan Black Belt Kukkiwon , Commando Krav Maga (Israeli Self Defense) Level 3 instructor, USOC Safe Sports Certified, USA Archery Coach Level 3. 33 yrs of experience.
Instructors:
- Rosemary Ubeda, Instructor, Black Belt III Dan Kukkiwon Taekwondo, Commando Krav Maga Level 2. Graduated from an Associate of Arts in Pre Optometry at Miami Dade Honors College. Transferred to Florida International University pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree.
- Michelle Lopez, Instructor. Black Belt II Dan Kukkiwon. Graduate at G. Holmes Braddock Sr, High School. Currently Attending Miami Dade College.
