Two of our archers achieved state medals at Target Archery’s two major events in Florida this summer.
The first event was the Target Archery State Outdoor Tournament sanctioned by USA Archery, the 2024 Florida State Outdoor 720 Championships. Our representative Athletes were Chloe Cuba (11 years old) who shot in the U13 female Barebow division, and Sebastian Jane (15 years old) who competed in the U18 Male Compound division. The results in this tournament were a Gold medal for Chloe, this being her first state tournament, quite an achievement for this little and dedicated archer. Sebastian finished with the silver medal, with a score of 621 only 3 points below Daniel Guanzon of Valrico who took first place.
The second State Tournament was the Florida Archery Association’s 720 State Event, held on August 3. On this occasion Sebastian won the Gold medal, being crowned FAA State Champion in the Young Adult Men’s Compound Bow division.
It is worth mentioning that Sebastian is also the student leader of the Archery club at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. and Member of the Li’l Abner Foundation competition team.
From the Li’l Abner Foundation and its Archery club, we congratulate Chloe and Sebastian on these impressive achievements which they will have the opportunity to repeat at the NFAA- FAA Target State Championships in October 26- 27, at Gold Coast Archers, Delray Beach, FL.
